Born and raised in San Rafael, California, Kylen Dix was inspired by home design at an early age. As she says, “I grew up going into homes for sale with my parents, just for fun, and we’d dream about ways to improve them… I’ve always loved design!” Growing up, Kylen also had a passion for gymnastics and horseback riding, both arenas where she competed state-side.

At the age of 17 her family relocated to Terrebonne, Oregon, north Redmond. And, after a short stint at Central Oregon Community College, she earned a bachelors degree in communication, mirroring her inherent talents and disposition for effective communication, organization and management. Out of school, she joined Oregon’s largest coffee chain, Dutch Brothers, and eventually stepped into a management position. While at Dutch Brothers, Kylen was introduced to Townsend Interiors, and jumped on the opportunity to marry her lifelong love and interest for design with her communication and management skills.

Now a core member of the Life Design Team, Kylen brings here passions and skills to every project, serving as a key bridge between the design and construction teams, ensuring coordination and execution of the project objectives is as smooth as possible. Beyond her daily responsibilities, as Kylen says, “ I love the team environment and the company’s focus on sustainable design”.

In her free time, Kylen still enjoys riding (her 14 year old horse, Reba), taking the dogs (Keelo a huskey mix, and Koi a hearding dog mix) out with her husband Kyle, along with running “out in the forest”.
