Tahmid Hossain received his Master’s in Architecture degree from Indiana University in 2024, building on his Bachelor’s in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where he graduated in 2018. After completing his undergraduate studies, Tahmid worked at a renowned architecture firm in his home country, where he contributed to various residential, commercial, and institutional projects from design to construction phases. During his graduate studies at Indiana University, he gained further experience by working on professional projects in the United States, including design development for building complexes for non-profit organizations and designing new accessibility extensions for historic buildings in the Midwest.
Growing up in the serene suburbs of South Asia, Tahmid developed a deep appreciation for nature, which continues to inspire his work. His designs reflect a strong connection to natural systems and cultural identity, emphasizing biophilia and sustainability. Tahmid’s commitment to environmentally responsible design aims to create energy-efficient and sustainable architectural solutions.
In addition to his architectural pursuits, Tahmid is an accomplished artist. He excels in oil painting, acrylic painting, printmaking, and graphite sketching, with nature serving as a prominent source of inspiration in his artwork. He also enjoys working with wood, creating hand-crafted sculptures, furniture, and architectural models.
